• Hermon was initially a missionary station named Rondeheuwel. The name Hermon derives from the biblical Mount Hermon, a site of numerous temples and places of worship. The word HERMON means Sacred Enclosure.
• Hermon is a small quaint hamlet, nestled on the edge of the Riebeek Valley on the backdrop of the Elandskloof mountain range and close to the Berg River. Although only a blip on the map, it is actually a little farm community village where we live a simple life and experience the sensory universe. We seek adherence with Hermetic Principles.
• Hermon lies just outside Riebeek Kasteel, the town that has endeared itself as a weekend getaway filled with foodie type venues, trendy deli’s and shops. The surrounds are a tapestry of vineyards, olive groves and fields of wheat. This idyllic environment lends itself to a variety of attractions, activities or pure relaxation, meditation and communion within the vast and tranquil openness of this valley.
• Hermon is the perfect base to explore the countless attractions the Western Cape has to offer. In close proximity (within 80km) you will find the historical towns such as Gouda, Tulbagh, Wolseley and Ceres towards the North. Wellington and the scenic Winelands of Paarl, Franchhoek, Stellenbosch and the Swartland towards the South. Then towards the west is the beauty of the West Coast with the towns of Darling, Yzerfontein, Langebaan, Saldanhna, Parternoster and Veldrif which are easily accessible from Hermon and offer a large basket of activities, culture and cuisine.
